The Role
- iCobus are looking for Qualified, Structured Cabling Engineers or IT Engineers/Network Engineers to complete network migrations for Nation-Wide WIFI Roll-Out Project. The scope is to patch in new APs and remove old APs, remove redundant kit from cabinets, rack and stack new equipment, record patching schedule, and complete small cabling surveys if required. Old devices are required to be scanned into an Excel sheet, along with the patching schedule, and photos of all work completed, as the documentation is extremely important.
Qualification Requirements:
- CSCS/ECS Card
Hardware Requirements:
- Smart-Phone or Tablet (iPhone, Android or iPad)
- Laptop
- Barcode Scanner
- Mod-Tap Tester & Toner
- 2 Point PPE (Boots & Hi-Vis Vest)
- Own Van
- 4-6 Tread Ladders
- SDS Drills, Combi & Impact Drills
- Copper Terminating Tools
- Hoover for cleaning work area
Duties and Responsibilities
- Liaise directly with client’s remote network team via Teams chat
- Remove old equipment from cabinets
- Rack and stack new equipment into cabinets
- Remove old APs and brackets from ceilings and plug the same patch lead into new AP (New APs already installed majority of the time)
- Re-do patching in the cabinet and create a new patching schedule
- Scan all old equipment information into an Excel sheet
- Taking Images and Documenting Your Work – Uploading to Our Online Platform using your Smart-Phone
- Install APs and bracketry where required
Further Skills & Experience:
- Ability to remain calm and communicate clearly when working under pressure
- Customer Facing with Good Communication Skills
- Ability to read architectural drawings
- Excellent understanding of health and safety practice
- Experience with the safe and correct use of ladders and other access equipment
- Experience with the correct and safe use of power tools
- English Language (written and verbal) to a GCSE level or equivalent as you should be able to demonstrate good communication skills, written, over the phone and face to face.
- No criminal record
